Our History
Brief History of Green Hills Transformation Initiative (GHTI)
Goodness Heights Transformation Initiative (GHTI) was founded on June 15, 2009, by Olaleye James Olugbenga Olamide. Initially named The Hills Corporation (THC), it was renamed Green Hills Transformation Initiative (GHTI) in 2014 during registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), This was eventually concluded with the new name that has come to stay in 2024: Goodness Heights Transformation Initiative (GHTI).
Founding and Vision
GHTI was established to fulfill a divine revelation to its founder, aiming to reach and transform teenagers, saving them from paths of destruction. Starting from the hostel room of Olaleye James at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, he pursued this vision tirelessly. Early supporters included Dr & Pastor (Mrs) M.O. Olaleye, Pastor& Pastor (Mrs) Festus Eriye, Mr Femi Idowu, Mr& Mrs Festus Olaleye, Pastor & Mrs Tunde Ojinni, Mr Goke Ishola, Mrs Tosin Solomon, Mr GokeIjaduade, Mr OlumideAdedapo, Mrs G.A.O Ogunseye and Deaconess Olaoye, and several others.
Mission and Early Projects
GHTI initially focused on young Nigerian teenagers, addressing moral decay by promoting hard work, courage, and moral integrity. We awarded students excelling in these areas with titles such as Most Hardworking Student, Mathematics Intellect of the Year, and Most Spiritual and Moral-Minded Student. Awards were presented at Solomon Grace Secondary School, Divine Blessed International School, George Green Baptist College and several others.
Expansion and Initiatives
1. Green Hills Library: Launched in 2009 as a mobile library, it started with 10 books and grew to over 100, serving Lagos and Ogbomoso. It aims to empower and transform Nigerian youth through reading.
2. Purposeful and Outstanding: In 2010, GHTI began this initiative to promote upright living and doing God’s will. Seminars have impacted thousands of students across over 20 schools in Southwest Nigeria, providing free sessions with refreshments and transportation.
3. Vote Wisely Campaign: In 2011, THC conducted an online campaign and sent texts to over 400 people, emphasizing the importance of wise voting.
Achievements and Celebrations
In 2014, GHTI celebrated its fifth anniversary with the launch of "Fresher’s Guide To A Life Of Excellence," authored by Olaleye James. The same year, the Purposeful and Outstanding seminar took place at Methodist High School in Ilesha.
Years following this, we have organized POISE as an Hybrid conference with speakers from in and outside Nigeria.
